Overview
Calligaris did not have an official app, so I designed a mobile experience that lets users explore the brand’s entire catalogue simply and engagingly.

The project focused on integrating augmented reality (AR) to offer a new way to interact with furniture, allowing users to try virtually in their homes before purchasing. The app combines advanced online shopping features and in-store support, enhancing the overall customer experience.

Features

Virtual Living

The Calligaris app allows users to browse the catalogue, filter products by category, and access detailed descriptions, measurements, and colour options.

Thanks to augmented reality, furniture can be viewed virtually in real space, with options to customise colours and configurations. The shopping experience includes an intuitive cart, secure payments, and flexible shipping options, like home delivery or free in-store pickup.

Process

Colours

For the visual identity, I chose black and white as primary and secondary colours to maintain elegance and simplicity. The green colour signals positive actions, while Calligaris red, used as an accent and for alert notifications, recalls the brand identity and highlights key interactions.
Calligaris app colour palette: primary colour white #FCFCFC, secondary colour black #171717, accent colour Calligaris red #FF4F5B, green for positive confirmations and red for alerts. Colour system designed for furniture e-commerce and augmented reality. Font

I chose Manrope as the main font, ensuring readability and modernity. I created all necessary text styles to guarantee typographical consistency across the app’s sections, from navigation to product details.
Font Manrope used for the Calligaris app: the photo shows H1, H2, H3 and H4, all in Light weight with sizes ranging from 40px to 20px. Typography designed to ensure readability and visual consistency on interfaces and product sheets. Components

I created components in a modular way to ensure consistency and scalability. Each element was organised with variants and Boolean values, optimising usability and maintenance.
Variants
Variants manage the different component configurations; careful analysis helps determine what can coexist and what must be separated.
Booleans
Boolean values simplify the system by reducing the number of variants, making components lighter and easier to manage.
